In order to enable scheduling of maintenance measures in pharmaceutical ultrapure water systems well in time we have developed the HPLG Henkel Passive Layer Guard, a rouge measuring instrument which observes the process of depassivation on the surface in contact with media.
This inline monitoring system helps operators of ultrapure water systems to detect changes in the surface in an early stage without having to open the system. The moment of uncontrolled particle emission can be targeted which enables budget optimisation for maintenance measures. The operator is informed in time to plan reconditioning measures for defined surface conditions such as derouging and repassivation.

The HPLG Henkel Passive Layer Guard is an optoelectronic measuring system which records the rouge formation process and enables the documentation of the passive condition of a tube system.
The changes are checked against electronically stored surface conditions in a reproducible manner. The information (degree of rouging) is indicated by coloured leds on the operating/control unit or reported to a central data acquisition.
The installation dimension of the HPLG Henkel Passive Layer Guard depends on
the dimension of the tube system. The measuring sensor is approximately 200 mm long
and can be supplied with any user-defined standard flange or clamp connection.
